About the altourist
We design private journeys that don’t just show you the world—they let you live within it.
Travel different—not just to see new places, but to expand your perspective and reconnect with the world around you and the voice within, through immersive cultural experiences, wilderness expeditions, and mindful pauses.
Along the way, we’re committed to giving back to local communities by supporting artisans, family-run eateries, and homestays—all while treading lightly to protect the environments that make these experiences extraordinary.

Born and raised in Chengdu, China, and lived overseas for 16 years. My journey through over 60 countries has given me a deep love for the world’s diverse cultures and natural beauties. These experiences shaped my belief that travel should be a force for good—not only enriching for the traveler but also beneficial for the communities and environments we encounter.
With a degree from Harvard University and a background at the United Nations and other mission-driven organizations, I’ve always been passionate about connecting people and protecting the planet. Through the altourist, I’m bringing that vision to life—crafting meaningful journeys that spark curiosity, promote cultural understanding, and leave a positive footprint—one small, meaningful step at a time.

With a background in sustainable development gained through years at the United Nations and a leading international non-profit, I am passionate about creating impactful travel experiences. I craft sustainable journeys in China’s lesser-known regions, rooted in authentic human connections and profound cultural immersion. Every trip I design prioritizes respect for local heritage, community empowerment, and transformative experiences that leave both travelers and host cultures enriched.
